United Way Ambassador Program
Making long-term improvements in North Texas starts with getting people throughout our community more aware of how they can make a difference. You can play a crucial role by letting people know about the positive impact United Way of Metropolitan Dallas investors and volunteers make in the community — and by sharing ways to LIVE UNITED: Give, Advocate and Volunteer.
As a United Way Ambassador, you will talk with people in Dallas, Collin, Rockwall and southern Denton counties at a variety of community events, including:
- Major events: sports, concerts and other events that draw large audiences
- University and school events: college and high school sporting events, festivals and annual events
- Family and retail events: community health and information fairs, music and art festivals, theatre performances, store openings, retail events and other activities that draw families
Once you sign up to be a United Way Ambassador, we’ll provide you with all the information you need. You will receive regular emails with lists of events where you can volunteer. After you schedule your volunteer hours, you will call into a brief orientation where you can learn everything you need to know about both the event and talking with people about United Way.
Most events take place on weekends and volunteer shifts range from two to three hours. We ask that United Way Ambassadors work at least two events a year.
